Commonly asked questions about InvisalignⓇ
What can you eat with Invisalign?
The great thing about Invisalign is that you can pretty much eat anything you want. You don’t have the same restrictions on your eating habits as you would if you had traditional braces. The one thing to keep in mind when eating your favorite foods while undergoing Invisalign treatment is that the Invisalign tray should be removed before the beginning of your meal. Also, be sure to rinse out your trays before replacing them in your mouth after your meal to maintain proper oral hygiene during your treatment.
Can I drink cold or hot drinks while wearing my Invisalign retainers?
Overly sugary and alcoholic beverages should not be consumed while wearing your aligners since they can lead to plaque buildup within the trays leading to greater oral complications later on in life. Since the Invisalign trays can warp, become stained, and even discolored it’s best to stay away from hot beverages such as coffee to allow thin liners to maintain the original integrity. The only exception to this rule is drinking cold water while wearing your Invisalign retainers.
Can I chew gum with Invisalign?
Just like traditional braces, you should not chew gum while wearing your Invisalign retainers. However, you can remove the retainers and chew gum as you please.
