What Is the Invisalign Process?

Patients from all over Leesburg have discovered the benefits of Invisalign®. This treatment utilizes clear aligners you place over your teeth to gradually shift them into a better, straighter position. While you wear the invisible aligners, they remain subtle, so no one knows you have braces in your mouth. Before proceeding, it is helpful to learn about the entire treatment process, so you know what to expect.

The Consultation

Not everyone is a good candidate for the aligners, so you will need to set up a consultation with Dr. Gary Ashton at Cardinal Park Family Dental Care to see if you qualify. This treatment is recommended for individuals with minor cases of overbite, underbite or overcrowding. In the event you do qualify, then our dentist will evaluate your teeth and create a customized treatment plan. In the consultation process, you will receive a step-by-step guideline on how you should use the aligners.

Aligners at Home

You will receive a set of aligners to switch out once every two weeks. The process of Invisalign involves wearing your aligners for at least 22 hours every day. The aligners can be removed for eating and brushing your teeth but should remain in your mouth for the rest of the day for optimal results. You will need to see our dentist once every six to eight weeks to get your next set to continue your alignment process. This appointment is also necessary to ensure your teeth are moving as needed.

Length of the Treatment

Most people will need to use Invisalign for between 12 and 18 months. However, a lot of people begin to see the results within a few weeks. Everyone’s case is different, and if you have any concerns about your aligners, do not hesitate to get in touch with our dentist in Leesburg, VA.

Dr. Ashton and his team will ensure your alignment goes as smoothly as possible.

Invisalign Waits for You

These aligners are the most convenient orthodontic treatment available. Invisalign allows you to have your smile be straighter in a comfortable manor. If you are unhappy with your teeth, contact our office to set up an appointment to see if you can benefit from these subtle braces.
